Our wedding announcement ran this past weekend in a Fort Bend area newspaper!  I think it turned out pretty well. J Big thanks to my future mother-in-law for running it!!

It’s a Small World

Today I received a really funny e-mail from my future mother-in-law.  She is running a wedding announcement in her local paper regarding our wedding.  Well, this past Sunday, another announcement ran in the same paper.  Before looking at the wedding announcement below, keep in mind that Daniel and I are being married at Clark Gardens in Weatherford, Texas on April 17, 2010…

Not only is this couple getting married on the same day at the same location as Daniel & I, but they both went to Daniel's high school!  It really is a small world!

‘Please join us for our special day…’

We picked out invitations today!!!  Our invitations will have a green & pink garden theme, with matching response cards, direction cards, & custom maps.  Since Clark Gardens is such a hard location to find, we figured we needed to spring for the extra-special maps that show exactly where things are located.

Here is a horribly rough example of what our invitations will look like (keep in mind I did this myself in about 5 minutes using paint):

Invitation Appointment

Now that the holiday season is over, it’s time to get back into wedding planning full force.  We have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to look at invitations at Simply Personal in Addison—I’m really excited!!

Wedding Beauty for the Men

Today Daniel & I went to pick out the tuxes for the wedding!   Since the bridesmaid’s dresses were from Alfred Angelo, we went with their sister-store, Al’s Formal Wear, for the menswear.  We had already decided, of course, to go with classic black, but hadn’t really seen many of the color options available as far as vests & ties go.

Daniel picked out a gorgeous, expensive black tux for himself – why not since any tux in the store was only $40 for the groom!!!  He is going to be wearing a white vest with a white & silver striped tie—he’s going to look amazing. J  The groomsmen will be in a kiwi green vest with a green & silver striped tie, & the dads will be in black vests with black & silver striped ties.  I’m really in love with the final product:

Tada!  The groomsmen’s vest should be a good match with the bridesmaid’s dresses…

Registry – CHECK!

I finally managed to drag Daniel to Target & Bed, Bath & Beyond to get registered this past weekend.  He definitely wasn’t thrilled, but it didn’t take over 3 hours, so he can’t complain too much!  We registered for a lot of really cool stuff, although most of it is pretty frivolous.  I mean, we already have a house & most of the things necessary for starting up a household, so all that’s left is fun stuff. J

Our Target registry is rather pathetic since we went to Bed, Bath & Beyond first & fell in love with a lot of stuff there.  We tried to register at Home Depot, too, but after going through and writing down the UPCs for several products (yes, with pen & paper!!), we were informed that the only way for people to see what we registered for is for them to go to OUR Home Depot – about 5 hours away from most of our family & friends!  Needless to say, we aren’t expecting to get anything off that registry!

As a side note, here is a picture of the beautiful china pattern we registered for:

It’s called Belle Boulevard & is from the Kate Spade collection – I love it!
